.
I am the editor-in-chief and creative director of the fashion and sports magazine Athletica and an image maker: in other words, my thing is turning my words into images.
CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT YOUR CREATIVE/WORKING PROCESS ?
I work all the time. I constantly feed myself off images and stories. I've always had a very strong connection to pop culture, whether French or international. From a very young age, I've always made collage books, gone to the movies, and watched TV series. I have a gargantuan appetite when it comes to stories. My first emotions were born in a movie theater. For my projects, I usually isolate myself and think about the meaning of the word I want to portray. From there, I start telling a story, looking for references and drawing inspiration from magazines or movie scenes. For the magazine, it's a team effort. I have surrounded myself with brilliant women and sensitive men who together create a dazzling creative chaos.
IS THERE A PARTICULAR PROJECT YOU'D LIKE TO SHARE WITH US ?
It would be redundant to recount the birth of my first film GRAND AMOUR, for TF1 in 2020 during lockdown. I've had a thousand lives since then, but this project was my first creative endeavor and will remain the most important. But the latest is the release of the new issue of Athletica EXTREMECORE, in which Pauline Arnal and Élisa Schmitt have joined the editorial team to support us alongside Nina Boutléroff. As I said, brilliant women to lead a sports magazine. That's what I'm proud of, being the team leader of a media outlet that resembles and listens to its audience. People need creativity in all areas. It opens up discussion.
HOW DOES YOUR ACTIVITY INFLUENCE THE WAY YOU DRESS ?
Working in a visual profession, I must admit that I like to have a chameleon-like style that evolves depending on the situation. Over time, I have learned to play with the codes of my classic wardrobe. I like the uniform aspect. I like clothes because they allow me to be extravagant at times and very classic at others. But I always wear polished shoes. That's the first thing people look at.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH CLOTHES ?
In constant search and construction, of my own way of consuming and making it my own. My profession has taught me that clothing brings uniqueness to everyone, and that you also have to give it time to become a key piece. My style has evolved over the course of my life, but I always come back to timeless cuts. I love clothing when it is not a trend but becomes one thanks to the way we make it our own.
WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE CÈUCLE PIECE AND WHY ?
I love everything about Cèucle, the uniform dimension and comfort. But above all, I love the fact that a simple pair of pants can spark a conversation, that a kimono shirt can be worn day or night. The brand's identity is so different depending on who wears it, and I love that these pieces can withstand all seasons and adapt to everyday life.
IF YOU HAD TO DESCRIBE CÈUCLE IN 3 WORDS ?
It's a dynamic wardrobe that gives our own style a signature look.
