PAUL GOUVEN

I have been a dancer for six years for various companies, as well as a photo model on the side.

CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT YOUR CREATIVE/WORKING PROCESS ?

For me, creativity and work are intrinsically linked. I love playing with movement and all its interpretations depending on the different projects I work on.Creativity therefore lies in embodying a role and how to integrate all aspects of my personality into it. I am fortunate to work with choreographers from a variety of backgrounds, which pushes me to develop my adaptability and to be proactive at all times.

IS THERE A PARTICULAR PROJECT YOU'D LIKE TO SHARE WITH US ?

I would like to talk about my participation in a short film for the Nikon Film Festival, which will be shot at the Opéra Garnier. This is my first filming experience, and I am involved as a dancer and actor, interacting with this legendary venue for dance. I find it interesting to collaborate with other young artists from different fields (dancer, musician, and director). Creating a common artistic language together, telling a story and conveying it through the camera is a new and enriching experience for my future career. Filming will begin in the winter of 2025 and will be in competition at the 16th edition of the Nikon Film Festival.

HOW DOES YOUR ACTIVITY INFLUENCE THE WAY YOU DRESS ?

When dancing, I need to feel comfortable in my clothes to believe in what I am performing. A cut that I don't like can hinder my dancing. The drape of a fabric or the color of a texture on my body tells me that it's possible to combine the personality of a garment with lasting comfort. Since I often wear loose-fitting clothes for dancing, I've incorporated these cuts into my everyday style. I also like to incorporate my work clothes into many of my outfits.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH CLOTHES ?

I love being able to be whoever I want to be by wearing different clothes depending on my mood or the weather. Clothes help me discover all the facets of my personality, and I love creating an eclectic wardrobe. Every piece I own is suited to a certain moment in my life, and I love being able to mix and match all kinds of textures and colors. I prefer thrift stores when shopping for clothes, so I tend to be drawn to fabrics that inspire me.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE CÈUCLE PIECE AND WHY ?

It's so hard to choose! I can't decide between the Khaki long shorts and the wide pants Chapter 3 indigo. They both have everything I love in a garment: a loose fit and high-quality fabric.

IF YOU HAD TO DESCRIBE CÈUCLE IN 3 WORDS ?
