KITESY MARTIN

I am the founder of Kitesy Martin Studio.

CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT YOUR CREATIVE/WORKING PROCESS ?

What's certain is that I love a result that's both impactful and timeless. It's a very fine line that I try to walk as much as possible with the designs I create. For me, what matters is that my pieces are wearable and that they don't just end up in a museum or get used only for editorial shoots. I like to think about what I would wear with these pieces? How would I wear them? My creative process is really centered around that. When I start from a source of inspiration, I always try to bring Kitesy Martin Studio pieces back down to reality.

IS THERE A PARTICULAR PROJECT YOU'D LIKE TO SHARE WITH US ?

There's a project coming out in September, which is a collaboration with an eyewear brand. Kitesy Martin Studio is going to design two glasses styles, along with a chain and its case. It's a project I love, and I can't wait to reveal it to everyone, because it's an accessory we've never worked on or offered in our collections before.

HOW DOES YOUR ACTIVITY INFLUENCE THE WAY YOU DRESS ?

My days are pretty fast-paced: on any given day I might be moving furniture, having a professional meeting, or even crawling around on all fours for a shoot… So comfort is essential, but at the same time I like to stay chic. If I have an interview or an important meeting, I like to feel at ease and confident. I find that dressing chic gives me a kind of magic power.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH CLOTHES ?

I always try to find a balance between something versatile, chic, and comfortable. In the end, it's a bit like with my jewelry. I have to admit that Cèucle answers pretty much all of those needs.

Unisex wide sage green pants with a relaxed silhouette, elastic waistband, and drawstring, embodying minimalist design and freedom of movement with subtle volume.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE CÈUCLE PIECE AND WHY ?

My favorite Cèucle piece is a khaki pants with a center seam, quite wide-legged and rather cropped, which I absolutely love. Every time I wear it, people ask me where it's from. I love its fabric, which is quite stiff and structured, giving the impression of a slightly "statement" piece that's also very easy to wear.

IF YOU HAD TO DESCRIBE CÈUCLE IN 3 WORDS ?

I'd say: oversized, comfort, and singular.
